MTL Sauce Piquante

Pimenta Boreal is a new project created by Bianca Rocha and Oonga, exploring the guilty pleasure music of Brega, the sexy, campy, kitschy dance sound from northern Brazil.

A highly accomplished singer who first performed on TV in Brazil at the age of 10, Bianca brings a strong ecofeminist lens to her songs, aiming to break taboos, combining irreverence and sensitivity in her songs sung in Portuguese and French. Her songs are cooked up with MTL Sauce Piquante head chef Oonga, bringing an electropunk edge to the sound. Together they are making some of the first Canadian brega!

This is a brand new project, the first EP, Calor du Nord, will come out in fall 2026.
