Chellz is an MC from Montréal, Canada, of Salvadorian descent who grew up in the multicultural neighbourhood of St Michel. His artistic work is mostly in Spanish: conscious and powerful lyrics with freestyle skills soaked in the black and brown urban immigrant culture.

As one of the leading latin MCs in Canada, Chellz has been a key figure in the Montreal latin alternative scene for more than 15 years, His group Sonido Pesao has been at the forefront of the alternative latin scene in Canada for a long time, twisting cumbia and merengue-influenced punk rock and hip hop sounds into their own heavy sounds. In his solo work Chellz is a creative lyricist who knows his way around a wicked rap hook. 

On his new EP he wrote 4 songs of love and death, lust and freedom, combining rap, reggaeton, dembow, and punk rock.

Early in the morning during one of the Pachangon afterparties,  the gang was playing a bunch of old school reggaeton and Panamanian dancehall beats and people were freestyling, a full squad of latin rappers from NDG and St Michel. Representing the sound of Montreal's latin rap scene filtered through the lens of old school dembow, Chellz is a raw, emotional and hypnotizing performer who is always pushing the boundaries, more than 20 years since he got his start. After it's all said and done, just feel the breeze and enjoy the music, we are all going back to the same place!
